3 Questions About the New Kajabi Features

2 Ways to Do It: Live Course or Pre-Recorded Course... But Which?

1 Irresistible Offer (you can’t refuse)

For me, this month has been all about goal setting for the remainder of the year and the 12 months of 2025. Have you been receiving my vibes and are also in the middle of deciding on goals to accomplish in the upcoming months?

  • Are you planning your Black Friday offer? (now is the time to plan!)
  • Have you considered a scalable program that may take all of 2025 to design and build?
  • Did your business take a step back and currently other aspects of your life are needing the attention and focus?

I'm here to help! I'll be your cheerleader and accountability partner. Meanwhile, how about some tips and tricks...

Three Questions About the New Kajabi Features

This morning, Kajabi came out with a new look - a new logo, brand colors, imagery and generally a new personality.

They're also showing off a few new features... but there aspects of these features that you need to be aware of.

#1 Free Newsletters

You've probably noticed that they're pushing the new Newsletter feature. I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but there's a way to offer a newsletter without using up one of your products. A general email broadcast sent to everyone on your list can be a newsletter. You can have a form on your website for visitors to subscribe and also send it to everyone else on your list. From there, just repost the email broadcast to your blog for an SEO boost.

#2 Selling Digital Downloads

Yep, another product, but you don't need to offer it as a product if you don't want to! You would send a digital download similar to sending a lead magnet freebie as an attachment in an email sequence. Or, you can use up a whole product so buyers have to log in to access it. Your choice.

#3 Paid Newsletter

If your newsletter is beefy enough, your followers will be willing to pay for it! You would set up an offer with no products and design a weekly, twice weekly, or monthly newsletter that sends to only those that own that particular offer. Ta-da! No product needed.

Two  Ways to Do it: Live Course or Pre-Recorded Course... But Which?

#1 Live Group Coaching Program

Pros:

  • Participants can ask questions, get immediate feedback and engage with you and other students.
  • You can adjust the content and pacing on the fly.
  • Live sessions give a sense of community among participants, leading to higher engagement.
  • Scheduled live classes create a structured learning environment, which helps with accountability to attend and complete the course.
  • Live sessions often feel more exclusive or premium, which can justify higher pricing.

Cons:

  • You and the students must commit to specific dates and times, which can be a barrier for those with busy schedules or in different time zones.
  • Live events are prone to technical difficulties.
  • Teaching live requires being prepared and “on” for the duration, which can be stressful.
  • With large live audiences, it can become challenging to provide personalized attention to each participant.
  • It requires a recurring time commitment from you for each cohort, making it harder to scale compared to pre-recorded courses.

#2 Pre-Recorded Online Courses

Pros:

  • Your students can complete the course on their own schedule, making it more convenient for a wider audience, regardless of location or time zone.
  • Once the content is recorded, it can be sold to unlimited students, allowing for passive income.
  • Pre-recorded content can be edited for a more polished final product.

Cons:

  • Students can’t ask questions or receive immediate feedback, which could lead to lower engagement.
  • Since there’s no live accountability, students may procrastinate or not complete the course.
  • Once recorded, updates require re-recording.
  • Without live interaction, building a sense of community among students can be challenging.

How About a Hybrid Approach?

Most course creators combine both formats. They offer live Q&A sessions or workshops to accompany the pre-recorded course.
