Improve Your Business with 3-2-1.

  • 3 Ways to Improve Email Deliverability
  • 2 Kajabi Automations to Implement Right Now
  • 1 Improve Your Messaging Tip

Close your eyes and envision where you want to be in business 10 years from now. Now, reverse engineer those 10 years and picture where you need to be by the end of the year to reach that goal. This is the beginning of the roadmap to your dream business.

Three Ways to Improve Email Deliverability

#1 Remove Unengaged Contacts

Log into Kajabi and click Contacts. Next, click on Insights.

  • Do you see the Inactive and Unengaged contacts?
  • Send them an email right now asking if they want to be on your list.
  • If a week goes by and they don't reply, delete them from your contacts.

Keeping unengaged contacts on your list decreases your open rate. Those unengaged contacts cause a signal to go out to all your other recipient email providers that your email could be spam (since so many contacts are ignoring the emails) and will place you in their Promotions folder. When was the last time you scrubbed your contacts list?

#2 Minimize Email Images

Spam filters analyze various elements of an email including the balance between images and text. Emails with a high ratio of images to text may trigger spam filters. Too many images resemble typical spam or phishing emails.

#3 Avoid Spam Words

Yes, there are very particular words that you should be avoiding. Certain elements of an email could also land it in the spam folder. Here are some recommendations:

  • Avoid all caps: Using all caps in your subject line can trigger spam filters.
  • Avoid attachments: Getting fancy with attachments like images and GIFs can make your email look fishy and increase the chance of it landing in the spam folder.
  • Avoid symbols: $, !, * particularly in the subject line.
  • Avoid spammy words and phrases including: Free, Act now, Click here, Buy now, Limited time offer, Guaranteed. Google around for an entire list!

Two Kajabi Automations to Implement Right Now

#1 Automate non-Customer Sequence

If you've ever been on a Zoom with me, I likely said, "let's automate everything!" If you're doing any manual emailing other than sending a message directly to one person, then you're doing it wrong.

Everything can be automated with an "if/then" trigger.

Have you ever wondered how you can auto follow-up a contact who opts in but does not purchase?

To do this, you'll set up an automation for an email to go out after a set number of days following an opt-in if they are not yet a customer. "When form is submitted, send this email sequence", condition "if they are not yet a customer".

#2 Free Trial Expiration Reminder

If you have any subscription offers, it may come in handy to turn this automation on (or turn it off). An email will go out 7 days before a subscriber's free trial ends.

  • To turn this automation on, go to Settings >> Customer Payments and you'll find it near the bottom.
  • To view and/or edit this email, go to Settings >> Email Templates >> Trial Ending for Subscriptions.

Remember to keep the email somewhat generic if you have more than one free trial offer.

One Improve Your Messaging Tip

#1 Design Your Contrarian Statement.

A contrarian statement is a viewpoint or assertion that goes against prevailing beliefs, opinions or trends. It's intentionally taking a position that's unconventional or contrary to the mainstream consensus.

In other words, your contrarian statement is the message you share with the world and what helps you stand out from your competitors.

Steps to design your own contrarian statement to stand our from others in your niche:

  • Identify a commonly held belief by your target market.
  • Consider the opposite or unconventional perspective related to that belief.
  • Craft your statement by presenting the opposing viewpoint in a manner that grabs attention and challenges the belief.
  • Finally, provide some reasoning or evidence to support your contrarian statement.

What did you come up with?

Examples:

  • Contrary to popular belief, consuming large amounts of sugar can actually be beneficial for weight loss.
  • While most Kajabi experts emphasize rapid scaling through paid ads, I believe in the power of organic audience growth by focusing on giving away valuable weekly content.
