How does a Kajabi Community work?
Want to add a welcome message for your new Community members, or ask them to agree to your expectations for interacting within your Community? Create new member guidelines your members must accept prior to joining.
Adding guidelines to your Community
To add your welcome message and guidelines new members must accept to join:
- Go into your Community and locate your profile icon at the top right of the page.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to your profile icon to open the options menu.
- Under "Community" select Settings.
- Then, in the left sidebar select Details.
- On the Community Details page, navigate to the Community Guideline section.
- Click + Create Guideline.
- Add a Title, Image, and Description for your guideline.
- Click Back to community to view your new guideline popup.
How do my members access the community?
Your Members will access your Community through an Access Group. An Access Group is a product, so your members will access it through their library just like any other product. If they are a part of multiple Access Groups, they will see them all in the library, but it won’t matter which one they access the Community through.
How does the community look to my members?
The Community looks almost identical to your Members, with a few key differences. Members will only see the content that is assigned to their Access Group(s). They will never see content that belongs to an Access Group they are not a member of. They will not see the Community Settings option.
What is a Circle?
A Circle in Kajabi Communities allows you to segment your customers into more refined groups. Circles can be set up as a feed or a chat to engage your customers.
Deleting an Access Group to which you’ve assigned one or more Circles won’t delete the Circles, but only the Community Admin will be able to view Circles that aren’t assigned to an Access Group. If desired, you can reassign a Circle to a new Access Group.
Which notifications do my members get & how can they control notifications?
Your Members can control which notifications they receive just like you can by going to Settings > Notifications. By default, your members will receive in-app, email & mobile push notifications for the following:
- When someone mentions them or @everyone
- When you post or update an announcement
- When a meetup they RSVP'd to is starting
- When you join the live room (you have the option to disable this when you join)
You can update the default notification functionality for your Community by going to Community Settings > Customization and toggling on or off "Send email notifications to members".
What do the emails look like?
The emails come from Kajabi Communities at [email protected] and are not customizable at this time.
Community Feed Page
Your Community includes a "Feed" page displaying a global feed of all Feed Circle posts. Chat Circle messages will not appear in the global feed on the Feed page. When you create a new post from the Feed page, you’ll select which Circle to post it to using the “Select feed” button. You can also choose to sort Circle posts from newest to oldest, oldest to newest, or by latest activity (i.e. posts with the most recent likes and comments). Go to Community Settings > Navigation Menu to rename the Feed page, make it your primary page, hide the page, or adjust its position in the navigation menu.
Right Sidebar Feed
The Community experience on the web app also offers a right sidebar conveniently displaying a feed of the 3 most recent:
- Announcements
- Upcoming Meetups
- Challenges to Complete
