😵💫What is a funnel?
Those new to digital marketing get bombarded with unfamiliar terms. It's likely you already know what a funnel is, but you just didn't know what it was called.
In a nutshell, a funnel is a pathway in which you are drive a new lead (or current customer) from point A to point B. The end of the funnel is most likely a sale.
A funnel can be any of the following...
a. Driving traffic from social media, blog posts, podcast, SEO, paid ads, etc. to your website where you’re offering a free PDF that aligns with your offer, is something your potential customer would very much appreciate, and provides them with a quick win. In exchange for that PDF, the lead must share their name and email.
b. Now that you have their contact information, you will set up an automatic email system in which one email a day goes out to your entire list. The emails include tips, knowledge, and items of value to show the lead who you are and what your brand is all about.
c. Once you feel you’ve provided enough value, the next step would be to offer your paid course or coaching program to them. That email will direct them to a sales page that shares information about your course, describes all the benefits they’ll gain, and overcomes objections they may have about purchasing the course. The sales page closes with an offer to purchase.
d. Clicking on the offer to purchase brings the lead to a checkout page where they can enter credit card details and receive instant access to your program, whether it’s just the first lesson or the entire course all at once. You’ll receive a message from the payment processing center that money is waiting in your account.
e. If someone arrives at your sales page, but is not yet ready to buy, they remain on your email list where you will continue to provide value through weekly emails and eventually offering the course again a few months later.
