You have $1M trapped inside your head...

Everyone is an expert at something.

Step #1 Dial in what that niche is, who it is that wants to learn from you, and finally what platforms to reach them.
Step #2 Design a marketing strategy to reach that target audience and find out what they want and how they want it.
Step #3 Build a course, group coaching, or mentorship program based on what your audience is telling you they want.

What should I write in emails following the initial freebie download?

What should I write in emails following the initial freebie download?

Someone from your audience has signed up to your email list. You've automated an email to go out with their free download then perhaps sent up to five emails providing more value related to that download.

Now what?

The next set of emails will be your welcome sequence.

You'll be introducing yourself and your company to the audience and share how you can help them, both free (podcast, video show, regular blog posts) and paid (your course offering, coaching, membership).

Remember these emails are all about your audience, not about you.

You're sharing how you can solve THEIR problems and what makes you different from your competitors.

Welcome Sequence Checklist

Each of these topics should be their own email. If you have a lot to share in a particular point, feel free to write it to span two to three emails.

  • Share your origin story...what life situation were you in when you were at your starting point and be sure to add some emotion into it
  • Provide the audience with the idea behind your subject matter, similar to sharing a mission statement. What are you hoping to accomplish and what is the ultimate goal of your website promise? This is not yet the time to introduce your paid offer.
  • Share a few lines about your weekly content. Describe your blog, podcast or video show. What will your audience gain by being a consumer of your content?
  • Offer ways to connect with you to keep up with your social media posts. Do not offer any social media links where you are not posting at least weekly. A social link that has not been updated in months is basically telling the audience you're about to go out of business.
  • FINALLY! Now you can share about your paid offerings. It's not a good idea to share it too early or you may come across as sales only and no value. Yes, in this email you can finally share all the details about the value they're going to receive from your paid offer. Be sure and include an invitation to purchase now and (optionally) a code to purchase at a discount rate this month only.
  • Wrap up the welcome sequence with a recap of anything you'd like to share plus let them know what day of the week you'll be sending out your weekly emails.
